Product Rave - NEW Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion

Finally a mascara I can give HG status! I was sucked in by the new pretty purple packaging of the new Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion mascara. I like the original Lash Blast pretty well, so I thought why not? I have very thin, short, sparse lashes so what I want, NEED in a mascara is volumizing, lengthening, able to hold a curl, no clumping or flaking. Is that asking too much? LOL!

I am always searching for that mascara that will do all of the above. I came pretty close with Apple Lash, but that can be very hard to find.

This mascara is FABULOUS! I can actually see my lashes! It is very volumizing, adds some length, holds a curl very well and 12 hours after putting it on it is still there and no flakies! The pigments are very black as well.

I hope they come out with a waterproof version of this one!

Definitely give this one a try, well worth it!

MAC Collection Haul & Review

I recently picked up a few items from the MAC Spring Color Forecast collection and the new Viva Glam collection.

Viva Glam's - I picked up Viva Glam Lady Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi Lauper. GaGa is a baby pink, which on me really looks like a more opaque version of Ample Pink l/g, which is one of my faves. So these paired together are gorgeous! Cyndi is a coral-red, very wearable, to me a warmer version of Rebel. Very happy with both of these and it's even better that they're for charity!

Spring Color Forecast - I picked up 2 of the blush ombres, Ripe Peach and Azalea Blossom. Both of these are gorgeous on my fair skin, and very unique. Because these are like 3 in one colors, you can mix it up and get different looks. And Ripe Peach, I gotta say, it's like it was made just for me! It is so gorgeous with my coloring!

I also got Perky eyeshadow and Victorian lipstick. Both of these were from the Coral collection. In the pot and tube, these are gorgeous colors but just don't work for me. A little too warm for my skin tone. I may keep Perky eyeshadow because it looks great as a blush with a little shimmer on top of it!

All in all, I love this collection and I wish I had enough $$$ to buy it all!

REVIEW - Cover Girl Smokey Shadow Blast

I had heard about these on Temptalia but didn't realize they were out yet until my cousin reminded me! So I saw them in CVS and went ahead and picked one up. I wasn't expecting much because I have never been very impressed with Cover Girl eyeshadows and I am not a big cream eyeshadow fan, other than using them as bases which I do almost everyday.

The color I got was "Silver Sky", a frosty silver and a muted purple/eggplant shade. One side of the "crayon" is rounded which is supposed to go on your lid and the other side is shaped like a lipstick and is supposed to be used for your crease and as a liner.

While I really liked the color on the rounded end, the pigmentation is horrible. I had to cake and cake this stuff on to get it to show up. After I did both eyes, I went back to look in the mirror about an hour later, and the stuff was almost gone! So I decided to try an experiment. On one eye I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and did that eye again, having to pack it on again. On the other eye, I used Urban Decay Primer Potion (nothing gets through this stuff). Again, though only a few hours later, the color was fading. I am not even sure these would make a good eyeshadow base because although they are wet, I don't feel like their sticky enough to make a good base. They also do not dry to a powder finish as I expect a good cream eyeshadow to do!

So, to wrap it up, poor pigmentation, poor staying power, I would save my money girls!

I would love to hear any other ideas/uses for these!

RIP Prescritpives Cosmetics

Cry Cry Cry!!

Effective in January, Prescriptive counters everywhere will close! This is a bummer! = (

Prescriptives custom blend foundation is one of the first "high-end" products that I ever bought. What can be better than a foundation custom blended to match your skin! And custom blended loose powder too! (According to the Prescriptives website, the custom blend foundation and powder will still be available on-line as long as you have your recipe, you can save it in your profile). Their popular fragrance, Calyx, will still be sold in select department stores and on-line.

I use alot of different foundations, but one of my favorites is Prescriptives Flawless Skin. It is fabulous and I will really miss it! I plan on stocking up on a few extra bottles while their still around and using it on special occasions only! LOL!

So if your a Presciptives fan, better run out and stock up on your favorites before they're all gone!

REVIEW - Vaseline Sheer Infusion Body Lotion

I decided to pick this up and try it since my trusted staple body lotion CeraVe was not cutting it this winter. If you have seen the commercials on this, it claims to "penetrate all 3 layers of your surface skin". Well there is no way I can tell if it does that or not, but so far this lotion is working out great! I apply it in the morning after my shower while my skin is still somewhat damp. This is keeping my skin comfortable throughout the day and the night. It is not sticky or tacky in my opinion, but I am used to using thick creams due to my dry skin. I got this in Botanical Blend fragrance and it smells AWESOME!! Please let me know if you try it and what your thoughts are! It is $7.99 per bottle.

REVIEW - Kirkland for Borghese 2009 Makeup Brush Set from Costco

I saw alot of raves for this makeup brush set on makeupalley. Me, being the makeup brush whore that I am (LOL), for $20 I had to have them!

You get your basic eye and face brushes, a pretty nice carrying case for them and a smaller travel brush set in a carrying case and an eyelash curler.

These are pretty good brushes! The powder brush alone is worth $20 in my opinion, it is AWESOME! And the eyeshadow brush, is just as good, if not a little bit better than my MAC 239 brush which costs $22 by itself!

If you are just starting out with makeup brushes, this set is a must have!!
